Social activities

Surgery reaches the patient, or it does not exist

A standing programme of free camps, follow-up care and training, run with volunteer anaesthetists, nurses and physiotherapists. Families travel from nineteen districts; nobody is turned away for inability to pay.

    Free cleft lip & palate camps

    Quarterly two-day camps with a volunteer theatre team. Speech therapy and orthodontic review continue free for two years after repair.

    Burn survivor rehabilitation

    Pressure garments, scar release surgery and a monthly survivors' group — the long, unglamorous half of burn care that most programmes drop.

    Rural surgical outreach

    Mobile theatre camps in Kurigram, Bhola and Jamalpur, in partnership with upazila health complexes and local physicians.

    Free first-aid workshops for rural medical officers, and a kitchen-safety campaign in schools — most childhood burns here begin at a cooking fire.
